Wisconsin ReChartered

April 23, 2008 - Leave a Response

Please join us in congratulating our members recently initiated into our re-chartered Alpha Theta Chapter at the University of Wisconsin. The men have spent the last year working toward fulfilling all requirements of “The Challenge” and submitted their petition for re-chartering which was recently approved by the International Fraternity.

Members of the Executive Committee lead by Joe Moidl, Grand Alpha and Bob Petrowski, Chapter Advisor, both Alpha Theta alumni, and numerous other alumni and undergraduates from surrounding chapters participated in the ceremonies held this past Saturday, April 19th in Madison, WI.

We look forward to working with the men of Alpha Theta as they rejoin the ranks of our Fraternity and seek to contribute once again to the University and surrounding community.

Thank you.

Approval to reopen South Carolina

April 18, 2008 - 3 Responses

Brothers,

Yesterday, Toby Smith, Phi Kappa Sigma Executive Director, and I were notified by Chris Narron, USC IFC President, that the IFC had approved our petition request to establish an Alpha Eta (AH) colony at (South) Carolina. The approval was for an immediate startup of the colony.

My sincere thanks to all of you who worked hard to help make this a reality. Congratulations to our future Phi Kap brothers at Carolina who did more than their share to achieve this historic event. I am certain these “Men of Honor” will build AH into a great chapter that will thrive on the Carolina campus and strengthen Greek life there.

Next Saturday, April 26, 2008, at 4:00 P.M., a ceremony will be held to induct these men formally into the AH colony. I urge you all to join us as the road to rebuild our great chapter begins.

I will update you in a few days as to the location and schedule for the ceremony. Please plan to attend.

Fraternally

Steve Counts, Chairman
Phi Kappa Sigma, AH Advisory Board

Phi Kap 2.0

February 11, 2008 - Leave a Response

The International Fraternity is 158 years old this year. As with anyone with most people that are older than dirt, the internet and its advantages are not always at our fingertips. This blog is one step of many in changing that and making Phi Kap a little more hip in today’s online world.

With a growing presence of Phi Kap related content on all the major social and professional networking websites, a blog really is inevitable. For now our home will be here on wordpress.com, a very cool free blogging service. We will be lined to the PKS.org frontpage and to other Phi Kap pages across the internet.

Stay tuned for the latest and greatest in Phi Kap goings, spread the word, and let us know what you think.
